Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Farmer-herder conflicts have long plagued Yola North LGA, Adamawa State, causing social unrest and economic disruptions. Public relations (PR) has emerged as a vital tool for conflict management, fostering dialogue, and promoting mutual understanding between conflicting parties. PR campaigns often leverage community engagement, media outreach, and peace-building initiatives to address grievances and prevent escalation. This study examines the role of PR in managing farmer-herder conflicts and highlights strategies that have proven effective in fostering lasting peace in Yola North LGA (Ahmed & Bello, 2023).
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Farmer-herder conflicts in Yola North remain a significant challenge despite various interventions. Ineffective communication, mistrust, and limited community participation have undermined efforts to resolve disputes.
